Payson slideshow

Click on the link above to see pictures from our little camping trip with our awesome neighbours and Mama Rosa. For some reason I called the album "payson slide show", but we actually camped in the forest going north past Pine, AZ a few miles south off the Blue Ridge Reservoir turn off. We had fun camping out in the forest where the air is filled with the smell of pines. We explored the little canyon behind our camp spot and called it the "enchanted meadow" we saw many elk prints, a wild turkey, elder berry bushes, wild mint, sting berry bushes, a little cave and my first fossil ever. We spent a day climbing at Jacks Canyon, took the Kayak to Blue Ridge Reservoir and climbed up nearby Moqui lookout tower http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=34.5642&lon=-111.169&datum=nad27&u=4&layer=DRG&size=m&s=50 where the hummingbirds just bombarded the feeder that the firefighters had set up for them.

We liked blue Ridge Reservoir so much that we returned last weekend to fish for trout. We where as happy as one can be paddleing around in the pouring rain. Yepp - that happens to people that stay in Az for too long ;-)

Sun is out

After several days of Sauwetter the sun came finally out and we went for a 3 mile jog in the morning, followed by a hike - stroll with Marco, Corinna, baby Anna, grandma Elke and Karl Heinz. We went up to Hof Schabernack. A Farm - restaurant, petting zoo, Pony rental place - hotel (You can sleep in the Hay in the summer for a small fee).
While we were sitting down - eating and drinkink Coffee. Sister Deborah who babtised Julia 3 years ago. Came walking up the hill on her sunday walk with the dogs.
Remember this is on lonely house in the boonies. We were happy she remembered us....
Grandma Elke fell flat into the mudd when she slipped on a wet slippery grass section, but she was a great sport and just laughed it off.

Coyote

We spotted this well fed species and his friend near First Water Trail Head in the Superstition Mountains. The other Coyote was hunting prey and it was impressive to see his powerful leaps across cacti and bushes.

Peralta Trail Hike in the snow - Jan 2007

This hike did not turn out quite the way it was planned. Taking a wrong turn on our Peralta Trail Head to first Water trail Head hike took us on a ~ 20 mile snow adventure. The unforgetable views and pictures were worth the sore legs and cold feet (due to Tennis shoes :-)

On top of Spider Walk

What better way to end the year 2006
Of course the rope got stuck again. The Webbing on the 2nd pitch should definitely be a little longer.
